History of The Delaware Barristers Association
The records of the Delaware Barristers Association reflect that discussions of forming a "minority bar association" affiliated with the National Bar Association commenced as early as 1987.
Following a meeting held on January 15, 1993 at the Walnut Street YMCA, the founding members approved incorporation as the Louis L. Redding Bar Association or the Delaware Barristers Association. At a meeting held on March 12, 1993, the founding members approved formal organization as the Delaware Barristers Association. The Delaware Barristers Association was incorporated on April 19, 1993 as a non profit legal association.
